A wife, a husband, and a very peculiar puzzle.

Puzzle Bomb is owned and operated by a wife and husband team, Caylyn and Chad Krizan, out of the Kansas City area. Chad personally designs each puzzle; Caylyn is the administratively gifted half of the equation that Chad would be lost without. Chad trained as a landscape architect, spent years in board games, and has been hooked on wooden jigsaws since 2017.

Their first puzzle was metal and enamel. Then came Bumfuzzled, puzzles as abstract art, on Kickstarter in 2021: 646 backers, almost seven times the goal. Bumfuzzled 2, Party in the Back (layered puzzles), Toomuchery and a Spring 2025 collection followed, all funded, about $330,000 in all.

In 2025 they sold 6,722 Bumfuzzleds, and in February 2026 the series became a monthly subscription: a new design every month, made once in 500 copies, then retired. Over 400 puzzlers now get one every month.
